10 Sex spoilsports

Have you ever wondered why so many women plead headache when the man has his mind and junior set on sex? Though there may not be any surveys to back this up, fact is men initiate sex only when they're ready and in the mood for it. It seldom happens when the woman wants it!

So, this is our revenge to let you know that just because you've turned it on is no reason why we too should get those hormones drooling, dribbling, and working.

Next time, if it's your woman who's getting all horny, don't be a wet blanket by saying your mind's too preoccupied with the next day's board meeting. Just get down, get dirty, get rolling, and, most importantly, get it up.

Here's how you spoil it for women sometimes
1. The drama is not only about the final act. Heard of foreplay, folks? So cuddle, coddle, cozy up, caress, cootchie coo.... Where's the hurry?

2. Sex is not on an ATM, on-the-tap mode....we need warming up time......unlike your little man, who's a bit of a slave!

3. You can't be a klutz with those hooks and straps. Get it right, and do be gentle...

4. While sex is fun anywhere, we like things to be organized  and as free of mess as a spontaneous  act will allow

5. For you it could be just a release, for us it's all tied up with emotions, head, and heart... so know that our responses will always be more thought through and, therefore, possibly slow. Don't get impatient... when everything gets working (read aroused), it's all yours to enjoy.

6. Size may matter to some, but what matters most is that it's happy to see us! We know when this is so, and we know when the fellow's being temperamental and bad mannered!

7. Even during love-making, we love to talk... so don't expect us to go through the motions and acrobatics in hushed silence...

8. We also like sweet nothings whispered into our ears, or shouted out loud... we sometimes fake orgasms (didn't they tell you!), but we make it appear like the real thing. Get the drift?

9. When it comes to creativity, you can't be wondering where we got our little tricks from. We don't unnecessarily stress over your digressions from routine/habit, so there...

10. Act over, and everyone can go home. Why does it have to be this way? We like a logical conclusion. A climax isn't a conclusion. Remember, there's a curtain call, and everyone's thanked!

Virginity: Still a big deal?

Going, going, gone! That was how 22-year-old Natalie Dylan in the United States publicly auctioned her virginity to pay for her college education.

And, her going rate touched a whopping $3.7 million! This sparked off a heated debate over the morality of such an auction, but Natalie said she had no moral dilemma with her decision and found it "empowering".

So, how relevant is virginity in the present context and what is youngsters' attitude towards it - is it fashionable to remain a virgin till marriage or lose it at the first opportunity?

Not an issue
Says T Anandan, a college professor and student counsellor, "With the level of sexual awareness among the youth of today and the way society has changed, youngsters have numerous opportunities to have their first sexual encounters very early. I would say that a majority of city students are initiated into sex by their late teens. Although it is still taboo, it's fashionable for guys to boast about flings," he says. "But, women usually prefer to remain silent on the subject."

Andrologist and WHO sexual medicine expert Sudhakar Krishnamurthy's opinion differs. "Today, virginity is not much of an issue. The more conservative a society, the more hypocritical it is. Hence, there is a need to cover the truth. A cosmopolitan girl will openly admit to being or not being a virgin. I don't think any woman at a ripe young age would enjoy announcing that she's a first timer," he says.

Morality questioned?
Savitha Raj, a post-graduate student says, "If my virginity is questioned before marriage, I would ask the guy if he is looking for a person of virtue or a regular human being, who has fallen in love with him but has a past."

An unapologetic Natalie, on a television show, had said, "We live in a capitalist society. Why shouldn't I be allowed to capitalise on my virginity?" Would that justify her morality?

Savitha, like many young girls in the city, calls it prostitution packaged differently. "She is being paid for her sexual service. She has come into the spotlight only because of the huge amount that was quoted. That said, Indian girls are more sensible and society here will not allow such a thing."

Advertising executive P Selvaraj disagrees. "An early sexual encounter is not always a reflection of morality. It is the middle class morality that believes that all sexual relationships occur because of lust and sin. One can be deeply in love with a person and things can go wrong," he says.

15-minutes of fame
Sudhakar agrees and says, "Passing a judgment based on a small tissue is nonsense. I'm not advocating sexual profligacy, morality lies in your sense of values and in your head."

With several teenage celebrities like Miley Cyrus encouraging youngsters to delay their initiation into the world of sex, would similar advice from stars change the scenario here? Says Sudhakar, "Celebrities will do anything for publicity. The question is, are they practising what they preach?"

This opinion is echoed by a blogger and university student, Mike, who says on his blog, "What disgusts me is the fact that Natalie is promoting it so heavily. It seems less about having some guy pay for her virginity and more about trying to get her 15 minutes of fame and a reality show."

After effect
But, what happens after Miss Money Honey has enjoyed Sugar Daddy? Relationship experts warn that casual sexual encounter like Natalie's have far-reaching psychological repercussions. "Remember, all first experiences are not enjoyable. Many have disastrous and traumatic first experiences. This can affect a person psychologically and change their attitude towards sex," says Sudhakar.

The key, he says, is sex edutainment. "When Anbumani Ramadoss wanted to recognise alternate sexuality, there was opposition from every quarter. People should understand that children are not going to be trained to become porn stars," he says.

"It's time the giggles from back benchers stopped and youngsters and parents understand the importance of understanding sexuality," Anandan concludes.

Watching porn may save your marriage!

Porn has been praised for its freedom of sexual expression and demeaned for the exact same reason, but what many don't know is that it can actually save a marriage.

According to China Press , a Singaporean engineer saved her marriage using the "tricks" she learned from porn films, reports Star Online .

She said she started watching porn films after reading a pornographic magazine sent by her friend from Australia eight years ago.

However, she said, she became addicted to these films about three years ago after her husband started giving her the cold shoulder.

The 32-year-old said she learned many sexual and emotional tips in managing a relationship from the films, and saved her marriage.

Eat fat stay thin

You needn't cut down on your favourite foods as long as you eat them the right way. Here's how to have what you want and stay slim
SUGAR
Go for foods such as fruit yoghurt, sweetened breakfast cereal or even jam, which will satisfy a sweet tooth but aren't packed with fat and calories. For women on a diet, up to 35 grams of added sugar per day should be fine.
ALCOHOL
A couple of small glasses a day won't usually cause weight-gain as long as that's your limit and you ideally drink it as an accompaniment to a healthy meal. Alcohol doesn't get stored directly as fat in the body but if you take more than your safe calorie intake, you'll ultimately put on weight.

PEANUTS
If you're strict about having just a handful, nuts can easily be incorporated in your 'get-slim' diet. In fact, nuts make a good snack for people trying to shed weight and can help weight control because they are so filling.
BREAD
It can actually be valuable for weight-watchers as it is filling while being relatively low on calories. Your best choice is a grainy type, as it's digested more slowly and produces a smoother blood sugar and insulin response.
CHOCOLATE
A 30 gram daily serving provides about 150 calories and nine grams of fat and is an acceptable daily treat.
CHEESE
Go for a strong cheese so you get maximum taste. You'll only need a matchbox-sized serving that provides less than 150 calories.

High calorie diet increases the chances of baby boy

High calorie diet increases the chances of baby boy.Eating a high calorie diet around the time of conception increases the chances of the baby being a born, finds a new study.

The study by researchers at the Universities of Exeter and Oxford, provides evidence that a child's sex is associated with the mother's diet, found a clear link between higher energy intake around the time of conception and the birth of sons.
Researchers focused on 740 first-time pregnant women in the UK, who did not know the sex of their foetus. The women were asked to keep records of their eating habits before and during the early stages of pregnancy.

They were then split into three groups according to the number of calories consumed per day around the time they conceived. The researchers found that more than half of the women (56pct) in the group with the highest energy intake at conception had sons.
Boffins noted that apart from consuming more calories, women who had sons were more likely to have eaten a higher quantity and wider range of nutrients, including potassium, calcium and vitamins C, E and B12. There was also a strong correlation between women eating breakfast cereals and producing sons.
Dr Fiona Mathews of the University of Exeter, lead author on the paper, said that the findings may help explain the falling birth-rate of boys in developed countries.
"This research may help to explain why in developed countries, where many young women choose to have low calorie diets, the proportion of boys born is falling," she said.
"Our findings are particularly interesting given the recent debates within the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Committee about whether to regulate 'gender' clinics that allow parents to select offspring sex, by manipulating sperm, for non-medical reasons.
Here we have evidence of a 'natural' mechanism that means that women appear to be already controlling the sex of their offspring by their diet," she added.
The study appears in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences .
